Research Achievements

DR.U. Ramesh is specialized in the field of Fish Nutrition and Diseases, Fish Preservation and Solid waste  management. He analyzed the survival and growth of fingerlings of Cyprinus carpio, Catla catla and Cirrhinus mrigala by using the dietary supplements  like β- Chitosan and showed that the Dietary supplementation of α and β- chitosan enhances growth and blood cell composition in common carp, Cyprinus carpio L. He also extensively studied the Bioactivity and Bioefficacy of Glucosamines (α, β- chitin and α,β- chitosan)  in various factors like Growth parameters, Haematological parameter etc of common carp Cyprinus carpio L. He also established the technology to recover chitin and chitosan from industrial waste . Dr. Ramesh has published 10 research articles in National and Inter-National  Journals and Presented lectures in eight National Seminar/Symposia

Area of Research

Bioactivity and Bioefficacy of Glucosamines in Fish (Aquaculture)
